Webfleet supports businesses to measure and reduce their fleet’s carbon emissions with TÜV Rheinland certified CO2 reporting tool

  • The Webfleet CO2 Report gives businesses an accurate overview of their fleet’s carbon emissions based on actual driving data.
  • With clear insights into how much CO2 their vehicles produce and where and why they do so, businesses can take meaningful action to reduce emissions and meet sustainability targets.
  • Now certified by TÜV Rheinland, the Webfleet CO2 Report also enables businesses to report on their direct CO2 emissions to help them manage compliance with future disclosure requirements.

Amsterdam, the Netherlands (23 November, 2023) - Webfleet, Bridgestone’s globally trusted fleet management solution, today received certification for its CO2 reporting tool by TÜV Rheinland1, one of the world's leading verification bodies.

The certified Webfleet CO2 Report enables businesses to accurately measure the direct CO2 emissions produced by vehicles in their fleet based on driving data. With Webfleet, a business can see not only the quantity of CO2 emissions its vehicles are causing, but also why and where it is happening.

This real-time and historical insight enables businesses to take better, targeted action to reduce their carbon footprint.

It also supports them in accurately reporting on the level of direct CO2 emissions caused by the vehicles they own, in anticipation of disclosure requirements, such as the UK Sustainability Disclosure Standards (UK SDS).

Although it is not currently mandatory for all companies to disclose their carbon footprint, business customers are increasingly seeking transparency on CO2 emissions associated with the transportation of goods or services.

In a competitive market, accurate CO2 emissions data can consequently become a distinguishing factor.

With decarbonisation a top priority for the industry, sustainable transport is the focus of this year’s Fleet Europe Summit in Lisbon, a leading conference bringing together fleet and mobility leaders from across the continent.

Speaking today at the event, Taco van der Leij, Vice President of Webfleet Europe at Bridgestone Mobility Solutions, said: Our CO2 reporting tool is a certified, accurate way to calculate your fleet’s direct CO2 emissions. But there’s much more to decarbonisation than just reporting.

Our data-driven mobility solutions empower customers to take a holistic approach to reducing their fleet’s carbon footprint. From advising fleets on electrification to optimising energy consumption and smart charging, cutting out driving habits that waste fuel, maintaining tyres at the right pressure, keeping drivers on the best routes and beyond, we’re a partner for businesses that want to take real action to run more sustainably.

Data is the key to making that happen. It is only with accurate, actionable data insights on CO2 emissions that businesses can know they are doing the right things to reduce them.

By connecting your vehicles with a leading telematics solution like Webfleet, you can get those insights. We sum it up in three steps: Connect, Measure, Reduce. That’s how you can not only reach your environmental goals but also drive business efficiency and profitability at the same time.

1 To meet state-of-the-art scientific standards, all platform-embedded calculations and decarbonisation solutions are fully aligned with internationally recognised scientific methodologies and standards such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The scientific accurateness of the applied Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) calculation methodology, Scope 1, is certified by TÜV Rheinland.
