Webfleet extends support for New Zealand with successful Picobyte Solutions eRUC integration and collaboration.
AUCKLAND, New Zealand (September 30, 2025) — Webfleet, Bridgestone’s globally trusted fleet management solution, is proud to announce a new integration and cooperation with electronic Road User Charge (eRUC) and ELogbook provider Picobyte Solutions Ltd.
Picobyte Solutions is an NZTA-approved electronic Road User Charge (eRUC) service provider through its RUC Monkey and myRUC Pro solutions. This new alliance with Picobyte Solutions enables Webfleet to integrate with Picobyte’s solutions, facilitating digital Road User Charge compliance and providing a seamless and complete fleet management solution.
Road User Charges (RUC) are a distance-based charging system for New Zealand’s land transport system. All road users contribute to the cost of upkeep, either through a Fuel Excise Duty (FED), or RUC, which applies to all vehicles not powered wholly by petrol, and all vehicles weighing more than 3.5 tonnes.
Electronic Road User Charges (eRUC) streamline and digitise the tracking and reporting of road usage for RUC-requirement vehicles, accurately measuring distance and distinguishing between public and private roads, ultimately assisting operators by streamlining reporting and reducing Road User Charge costs for their fleet.
The New Zealand Government has legislated that eRUC reporting will be required for all vehicles from 1 July 2027. Through integration with Picobyte, operators using Webfleet are now fully supported in preparing their fleets for this change and can upgrade their vehicles seamlessly over the next two years.
Integrating Picobyte’s eRUC solutions and capabilities into Webfleet makes it easier than ever for New Zealand fleet operators to monitor road usage and manage tax obligations
, said Jonny Clarke, Webfleet Director for Australia & New Zealand. We are committed to being a real partner for New Zealand businesses, and this RUC integration is a key piece of achieving that goal.
Joining forces with Webfleet helps Picobyte extend our eRUC solutions to more fleets throughout New Zealand, providing greater capabilities, flexibility, and choice for operators
, said Manoj Dolli, CEO at Picobyte. Integrating into Webfleet’s world-class telematics solution ensures New Zealand operators maintain access to the latest advancements and improvements in fleet management technology and enhance our vision for digital RUC compliance now and in the future seamlessly.
Francis Wynne from Direct Track, Webfleet’s exclusive New Zealand Distribution Partner, commented: The number of all-in-one solutions of both telematics and RUC for New Zealand is quite low. This new integration and partnership with Picobyte and Webfleet helps to bring a new global leader in telemetry and fleet management to NZ fleets and delivers a new competitive range of options and capabilities for operators.
