  • Joint Green Your Fleet programme with fleet management solution Webfleet has helped fleet companies to offset their CO2 emissions.

Amsterdam, Netherlands – May 26, 2023 — This month marks the 5-year anniversary of Bridgestone Mobility Solutions, a Business Unit of Bridgestone, and Justdiggit, a non-profit organisation on a mission to regreen the African continent and cool down the planet.

Together the partners are regreening an area in Tanzania the size of 13,761 hectares. This is equal to 17 times the size of Amsterdam’s centre. The regreening efforts include bringing back 501,440 trees sequestering around 96,000 tonnes of CO2. Through this partnership, Justdiggit's regreening programme has positively impacted the livelihoods of over 39,790 people while saving 480 million litres of water annually and restoring local biodiversity.

Utilising Webfleet, Bridgestone’s globally trusted fleet management solution, Bridgestone Mobility Solutions also created the unique Green Your Fleetprogramme with Justdiggit. With Green Your Fleet, fleet owners can estimate their annual CO2 emissions based on their fleet size and type, which can be offset by regreening dry lands in Tanzania, Africa.

Since the end of 2022, Bridgestone Mobility Solutions offers an earth smile to their new hires. An earth smile, one of Justdiggit’s most well-known regreening techniques, is a moon-shaped pit that catches rainwater in dry areas. This way vegetation can recover faster, providing water, food, biodiversity in Kenya, Africa.

The partnership with Justdiggit and Webfleet’s Green Your Fleet programme are linked to the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, which serves to guide the company’s transformation into a sustainable solutions company, and acts as a compass to drive management while earning the trust of future generations.
