The new driver terminal includes forced driver ID, digital logbook, working time log and driver performance improvement module
Amsterdam, 21 September 2016
TomTom Telematics today launches the TomTom PRO 2020. The new driver terminal, which can be used in cars and vans, combines a rich set of features that enables large fleet owners using the company’s award-winning fleet management service, WEBFLEET, to connect their entire fleets and helps them be more in control of driver style and compliance.
For the first time, the TomTom PRO 2020 combines four essential features in one unit to make things better for the manager, the driver and the business: Driver ID with buzzer alert; Logbook to capture business and private mileage; Working Times so individual employees can log time which can help comply with legislation and policy; and OptiDrive 360, which empowers drivers to improve driving performance with visual and audible feedback as they drive.
By packaging these with an interactive touchscreen interface the TomTom PRO 2020 creates an engaging experience for the driver, which is more effective at helping to change their behaviour and improve their driving style. Its simplicity enables and encourages accurate logging of work times and business/private trip data, and its compact size (2.5 inches) means it can be fitted to the vehicle dashboard without taking up too much space.
For fleet managers the TomTom PRO 2020 offers a quick and easy way to empower drivers to be accountable. It also provides powerful reporting via WEBFLEET and the ability to integrate easily into existing back office systems.
“Owners of large fleets often find connecting all their vehicles can be challenging and expensive. Including only essential functionality in one device, the TomTom PRO 2020 provides fleet owners with a quick and easy solution to this problem,” said Thomas Schmidt, managing director at TomTom Telematics. “By giving fleet owners a consistent way of collecting data across their whole fleet, we are not only helping to reduce the total cost of ownership across the fleet, but we are also helping them to more easily, more quickly and more efficiently reach their goals. This is the latest innovative development we are offering to help support both manager and driver, as well as the industry as a whole in its digital transformation.”
The TomTom PRO 2020 will be available across Europe in Q4 2016.
