London, February 28, 2023 — John Petch Transport has boosted its profitability by 10 per cent thanks to a connected fleet management system combining Webfleet, Bridgestone’s trusted fleet management solution, with Mantis cameras.
The North Yorkshire-based bulk haulage company has rolled out the integrated solution across its fleet of 25 HGVs, resulting in significant fuel, insurance and overtime cost savings.
The technology, which combines high definition dashcam footage displayed alongside driving data, such as speed and location, gives better insights into critical events on the road.
‘Because we can now use this indisputable evidence to protect our drivers against false or incorrect claims, we’ve seen a five per cent reduction in both our claims costs and fleet insurance premium,’ explained Dave Petch, co-founder, John Petch Transport. ‘The cameras have paid for themselves.’
Better truck route planning and more accurate timesheet reporting has reduced overtime claims, saving the company more than £5,000 a year. Active driver feedback has also improved driver standards, cutting incidents of speeding and harsh braking, while significantly reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, in line with Bridgestone E8 Commitment.
‘Webfleet is helping us to manage our drivers better and, consequently, enabling us to increase our productivity,’ added Dave. ‘The combined camera and telematics solution has helped us to modernise the way we work and has had a dramatic impact on our efficiency.’
Beverley Wise, Webfleet Regional Director for Bridgestone Mobility Solutions, said: ‘Webfleet has a proven track record of helping fleet business improve their bottom line by providing them with the data insights needed to achieve extensive efficiency savings and to better manage risk.’
‘This is another strong example of the very tangible benefits that connected fleet technologies can deliver.’
Telematics specialists and Webfleet partner MG Fleet advised on both solution and installation. Neil Gittins, Operations Director at MG Fleet added: ‘This integrated system combines best-of-breed telematics and cameras to pro-actively change driving styles and reduce fuel spend. High quality footage alongside telematics insights creates a very powerful driver education solution.’
‘As a family business in the transport industry since 1966, we are very proud of the quality of our customer service,’ said Dave. ‘We felt MG Fleet not only had a good knowledge of the latest products on the market, but also mirrored our very personal approach to service.’
