With the connected navigation solution WEBFLEET we're offering our clients an easy to apply and efficient service for online fleet management, combining navigation, communication and services whilst complying with technological and economical requirements of companies with fleets of any size.”
Image Ranking 2009
Basis of this award is a representative market research accomplished by TNS Emnid, one of
the leading institutes for market and social research. The study has been commissioned by
weekly magazine VerkehrsRundschau in Germany. In September and October 2008 400 fleet decision
maker from transport companies, the industry and retail have been consulted. Detected were
high profile and image of the most important fleet suppliers as well as of suppliers of products
and services for car and truck pools. The overall 99 providers in the test have been allocated
to 9 categories and selected beforehand by the editorial office of VerkehrsRundschau.
WEBFLEET
WEBFLEET is a web-based application. Fleet managers have the opportunity to track vehicles
around the clock and profit from extensive reporting tools. For example this includes reports on
working times, speed profile and the number of journeys and stops of the individual drivers. The
new WEBFLEET is the core component of the connected navigation solution from TomTom WORK.
Connected navigation enables the swift allocation of work orders and information exchange between
the office and its drivers, automated reporting and simple navigation. As new component
TomTom WORK is also offering truck navigation. This solution features route information
specifically designed for trucks, with relevant information like clearance heights and weight
restrictions. The software has new routing algorithms, making it possible for truckers to avoid
small town roads and narrow residential areas where possible. Typical truck speeds are taken
into account, so truckers get realistic expected arrival times. They can simply enter their
vehicle's parameters – measurements, axle weight and total weight – into the software and it
will do the rest, maximizing their routes and helping them to avoid 'obstacles' that could
delay their arrival.
